Hwa Chong International School (HCIS) is a prestigious institution rooted in academic excellence and global perspective. The school engaged The Vessel Studio to lead a brand refresh that would modernise its communications, improve clarity, and elevate its visual presence while still honouring its heritage and academic stature.
Our scope included a visual identity refresh, campus map redesign, stationary system and brand guidelines.
The design challenge was to establish a cohesive and clear visual language across a diverse range of materials. Our approach centered on honoring the school's rich heritage and academic legacy, while simultaneously enhancing usability and visual hierarchy across all print collateral, and creating a flexible system for future multi-platform expansion. Collaborating closely with school leadership, we identified key pain points to streamline communication tools and ensure visual consistency, all without compromising existing brand equity.
The HCIS Brand Identity Guidelines serve to develop a unified image, increasing HCIS visibility and supporting its growing reputation. This Brand Identity Guidelines set forth the approved usage of the School’s signature for communications in print, web and electronic form. Adherence to these guidelines will protect the integrity of our visual identity and ensure the consistency in its communications, thereby augmenting its reputation.
The ability to build and maintain a clear, consistent identity is central to maintaining its position as a premier institution as a leading IB world school offering a uniquely global and Asian perspective, building capability and developing character in students to become independent, innovative and international-minded learners of tomorrow.
