DreamWorks Day 2017 marked the first-ever DreamWorks-themed run in Asia, held at Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage in Singapore. It was more than just a race, it was a family-oriented carnival that combined physical activity with beloved animated characters, immersive environments, and charitable giving. The event featured a 5KM fun run, an 800M kids dash, character meet-and-greets, movie-themed carnival games, and fundraising for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

The Vessel Studio was commissioned to create the official logo, visual identity system, and outdoor campaign for this landmark event.

The DreamWorks Day logo was designed to be dynamic, immersive, and character-driven, capturing the excitement and magic of the brand’s cinematic universe. The word "DAY" is rendered in large, blocky, snow-capped letters, evoking the bold, playful energy of animated titles. Iconic DreamWorks characters such as Shrek, Toothless, Po, Alex the Lion are incorporated with the lettering, each interacting or playfully posed around the wordmark, making the design feel alive.

A stylised, monochromatic version was also created for merchandise and low-colour applications, maintaining character recognition through expressive linework. The logo needed to be instantly identifiable, fun for children, and recognisable by fans of the DreamWorks cinematic universe, while staying within brand standards and licensing requirements.

The logo and campaign assets helped define the identity of DreamWorks Day as both a large-scale public event and a first-of-its-kind brand activation in Asia. They contributed to high public turnout, strong family engagement, and a memorable visual legacy for the brand’s regional expansion. As a result, a joyful and action-packed brand identity that brought beloved DreamWorks characters to life across Singapore’s public spaces. Designed to be cinematic, modular, and memorable—just like the stories it represents.
